Success for All ™ is a reading program serving grades K-3. The curriculum offers acceleration for students ready to learn at a faster pace and a prevention system to ensure success for struggling learners.
Every student attends a 90 minute reading block each day with students at a comparable reading level. Class sizes  | | Kdg. Letter Investigation | are kept as small as possible are to ensure that learning takes place.
Students are reassessed every eight weeks to determine their progress. This
information is used to assign students to tutoring, make changes in
reading group placement, special needs interventions, or other means of
meeting students' needs.
Success  | | Lee Conmigo Readers | For All offers the following components:
Kinder Corner is a full day program that emphasizes language
development as well as social and academic skills. It uses children's
literature and big books as well as thematically related activities.
Early reading activities such as oral and written composition,
promoting  | | Stretching Words | the development of concepts of print, alphabet games, and
math concepts are components of the curriculum. In February students began the pre-Roots program, KinderRoots, which prepares the students for reading in the first grade.
Lee Conmigo is the Spanish version of Reading Roots which allows
Spanish speaking  | | Partner Reading | students to learn to read in their first language and
then transition into English using compatible curriculum materials.
This enables the student to become a stronger reader and is in direct
compliance with the Latino Consent Decree.
Reading Roots teaches students to read using Shared Stories that build
on  | | Silent Reading | previously learned letters, sounds and words in a systematic way to ensure success for all students. The
lessons develop general strategies for facilitating both word
recognition and text comprehension so that students become independent,
thinking readers who experience the joy of reading.
Reading Wings  | | Bilingual Support | is
designed to build on the solid base of decoding and comprehension
skills established in the Reading Roots program. Reading Wings lessons include direct teacher
instruction, team practice, independent practice, peer support,
assessment, and team recognition based on the learning of all team
members.
Tutoring  | | Comcast Reading Buddies | is available for students in grades 1-3 who are in need of extra support. Roosevelt
has a group of dedicated volunteers who give their time to reading with
individual children each week. It makes a significant difference in the
children's success.
