My name is Liz Halama. I've been at Roosevelt since 1998. I moved here from New York in 1996. My hope and dream is to help my speech and language students develop the skills and confidence they need to ask questions. I enjoy spending time with my husband, Mike, and three kids and anything outside.
My name is Carla Cox. I have been working at Roosevelt for 22 years. I am a special education teacher who works with students who have cognitive disabilities, learning disabilities, other health disabilities, physical impairments, developmental delays, and emotional/behavior disorders. My hopes and dreams for my students are to help them acquire the necessary skills in order to be good students and citizens. I am married and my husband and I have one daughter who is in high school. As a family we enjoy boating, fishing, skiing and traveling when we can.
Hi. My name is Alecia Carter, and I am an occupational therapist. I make sure kids have the tools they need for their jobs as students. I have a really neat job, and I get to be very creative modifying and adapting school environments. I love working with students, and I truly believe that every child has the potential to be anything they want to be! As for my hobbies, I like to take pictures and write letters. I am also a gymnast! I live in St.Paul, and I have a wonderful husband, Melvin Carter III, and a beautiful daughter, Maylena.
My name is Mary Connelly. This is my first year as a social worker at Roosevelt. I work part-time at Roosevelt and part-time in the district’s Title I Homeless Program. I love working with students, parents and staff. I focus on student’s social, emotional and behavioral needs. I want to see our students become the healthiest people they can be so that they might make an impact on society in many invaluable ways. I love making cards, knitting, crocheting and reading.
