| Roosevelt's Music Program | | Mrs. Griebenow's students at Roosevelt Elementary School have the
opportunity to learn many things in their music classes. We learn to
sing, play percussion instruments, compose songs, learn about composers
and their music, and learn about many different countries and cultures
and their music and instruments.
Currently children are
involved in composing their own songs using the music concepts they
have previously learned. They compose a song using poetry as a starting
point. They write at least three simple rhythmic ostinati to accompany
their song and perform it for their peers and teacher.

| | | | Roosevelt's Choir | Roosevelt Elementary school has a choir for interested second through sixth grade students. They meet once a week before school at 8 AM. Anyone in
second through sixth grade may sign up for choir. Membership is
determined by interest and capability of parents to provide
transportation to the school for choir rehearsel.
They have
performed for the Tree Lighting Ceremony at the state capital, at Town
Square during the noon hour, and for a TPT Diversity Luncheon. We also
perform for two PTAC meetings a year as well as for the senior
residents of Health East. |
