SCIENCE - Where the students wonder, interact, observe, and explore. In science the students are learning about a variety of topics. This is a list of what the students are learning about in science: Kindergarten: The water cycle, weather, climate, living and non-living organisms, The Common Loon and their five senses. First Grade: Physical properties with rocks and minerals, balance and motion, weather cycle, life cycles of plants and animals, heredity, basic needs, and the parts of the human body. Second Grade: Understanding mass and matter, motion, basis earth materials, water cycle, solar system, life cycles of plants and animals, habitats, organisms that once lived on earth, predators and prey, carnivores and herbivores, and the basic human needs. Third Grade: Scientific investigation, how sound and light travels, properties of rocks and minerals, The Mars Rover measurement, recording weather conditions, major cloud types, solar system, biomes, plant and animal structures, organism interactions, habitats, heredity, and food chains.
